Helping Hands Widows Ministry

We are asking the men of Desert Springs to help the Widows of our church. We have assembled a list of skills that our Widows have indicated they need your help in doing. When we hear of a need that you could possibly help with, we will contact you. From there, you can contact the widow in need and set up a time to assess her need and fix the problem! For more information on how to get involved, contact Pastor Jim Zeilenga, at or call 760-568-3646.. Thank you in advance for your contribution in serving the Lord and for your ministry in “honoring widows” (I Timothy 5: 3).

Alan Hurt, Desert Springs Church Men’s Ministry Director

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) is a place of refuge, providing for the emergency needs of the impoverished and destitute of the Coachella Valley. Desert Springs Church is honored to both serve and financially support CVRM in their efforts to provide shelter and food services, rehabilitation programs, counseling, education, job skills and transitional living. For more information on how you can get involved, contact Desert Springs’ Frontline Director, Laura Keener, at or call 760-568-3646.

Mexico Missionary Support (La Mision, Baja Mexico)

Sherry Bernheisel felt God’s call to use her talents and gifts in full time ministry after going on our 2014 Baja Mission Trip. Our support helps Sherry in her ministry with the children, families and staff at both Open Arms Childcare Ministry and the Door of Faith Orphanage. Join us on our next mission trip as we serve at these two Christ-centered ministries. Your life will be changed by blessing others! For more information on how you can get involved, contact Desert Springs’ Frontline Director, Laura Keener, at or call 760-568-3646.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Coachella Valley

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. The FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Desert Springs Church supports the Coachella Valley FCA financially with monthly support and fellowship through an annual, joint luncheon. For more information on how you can get involved, contact Desert Springs’ Head of Men’s Ministry, Alan Hurt, or Frontline Director, Laura Keener, at or call 760-568-3646.

Desert Cities Jail Ministry

The sole purpose of the Jail Ministry is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the inmates at the Riverside County Jail in Indio. This jail ministry is unique in that many of the inmates coming into Indio are on their way someplace else (court appearances, awaiting transfer to other facilities, etc.). When an inmate receives Christ, they, in turn, can share their salvation with others in whatever facility they end up. Our God is an amazing and faithful God! This ministry provides you with an opportunity to increase your faith and spiritual walk each time you go into jail. Sound interesting?
